Question 1

Do I really just… text?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Text (844) 482-4881 like you'd text a client to confirm an appointment. "Boho braids $260 cash," "booth rent $350," "what do I owe?" — Toozi logs it, sorts it, and answers. No app, no login.

Question 2

What can a braider write off?

Accepted Answer

Hair and extensions you buy for clients, gel, mousse, edge control, combs, clips, your braiding stool and chair, booth or suite rent, your cosmetology license and renewal fees, continuing education, and the business share of your phone. Toozi sorts each one for Schedule C.

Question 3

Most of my clients pay cash or Cash App. Does that count?

Accepted Answer

Yes, all of it is income. Text each one the way it came in — "cash $200," "Cash App from Bri $180." Toozi logs it right away so nothing gets lost by tax time.

Question 4

I braid from home. Can I deduct anything for that?

Accepted Answer

If a room or space is used regularly and only for your business, you may qualify for the home office deduction. Toozi tracks the square footage and the costs, and sorts it for Schedule C.

Question 5

Clients supply their own hair sometimes. How do I handle that?

Accepted Answer

Only log hair you paid for. If a client brings her own, there's nothing to deduct, and Toozi keeps the service price as income the same way.

Question 6

How is that different from Keeper or QuickBooks?

Accepted Answer

Keeper is built around finding write-offs after the fact. QuickBooks makes you sit at a computer and learn software. Toozi keeps your clients, hair, and rent current from your phone, between heads.

Question 7

Is my financial data safe?

Accepted Answer

256-bit AES encryption at rest and in transit, bank connections through Plaid (same infrastructure as Venmo), and payments through Stripe — your card data never touches our servers.

Question 8

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes. No contract, no cancellation fee. Text "cancel" and you're done — and you can export your books first.
