Question 1

Do I really just… text?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Text (844) 482-4881 like you'd text a client that you're on the way. "Deep clean $240," "$46 supplies," "what do I owe?" — Toozi logs it, sorts it, and answers. No app, no login.

Question 2

What can a house cleaner write off?

Accepted Answer

Cleaning supplies and equipment, vacuums and mops, gloves and uniforms with your logo, business miles between client homes, helpers you pay, liability insurance and bonding, scheduling apps, and the business share of your phone. Toozi sorts each one for Schedule C.

Question 3

Which miles count?

Accepted Answer

Miles between client homes and to the store for supplies count. The drive from home to your first job usually doesn't unless your home is your principal place of business. Text "drove 31 miles between houses" and Toozi logs it.

Question 4

I pay a helper in cash. Do I have to send a 1099?

Accepted Answer

If you pay a helper $600 or more in a year as an independent contractor, you generally file a 1099-NEC — cash included. Toozi tracks the total per person, collects W-9s by text, and files the forms through Tax Hub. If you control how and when they work, they may be an employee instead; Toozi will tell you when to ask a pro.

Question 5

Clients pay me by Zelle and cash. Does that count?

Accepted Answer

Yes, all of it is income. Text each job the way it came in and Toozi logs it right away. Connect your bank and the Zelle deposits land automatically.

Question 6

How is that different from Keeper or QuickBooks?

Accepted Answer

Keeper is built around finding write-offs after the fact. QuickBooks makes you sit at a computer and learn software. Toozi keeps your jobs, supplies, and helpers current from your phone, between houses.

Question 7

Is my financial data safe?

Accepted Answer

256-bit AES encryption at rest and in transit, bank connections through Plaid (same infrastructure as Venmo), and payments through Stripe — your card data never touches our servers.

Question 8

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes. No contract, no cancellation fee. Text "cancel" and you're done — and you can export your books first.

Run your cleaning business from one text thread.
