Question 1

Do I really just… text?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Text (844) 482-4881 like you'd message a customer about an order. "Etsy payout $486," "$72 yarn," "what do I owe?" — Toozi logs it, sorts it, and answers. No app, no login.

Question 2

What can an Etsy seller write off?

Accepted Answer

Materials and supplies, packaging and labels, postage, Etsy listing and transaction fees, payment processing fees, your Etsy Ads spend, a home office if a space is used only for the shop, photography gear and props, and the business share of your phone and internet. Toozi sorts each one for Schedule C.

Question 3

Does Etsy handle my sales tax?

Accepted Answer

For most US orders, yes — Etsy collects and remits sales tax as a marketplace facilitator. Sales you make outside Etsy, like craft fairs or direct orders, are usually on you. Toozi tracks those separately and tells you when they're due.

Question 4

What about my 1099-K?

Accepted Answer

The 1099-K reports your gross Etsy sales, before fees and refunds. Toozi logs the gross and the fees separately so the return matches the form and you only pay tax on what you actually kept.

Question 5

Do I need to track inventory?

Accepted Answer

Small makers can usually treat materials as supplies when bought, which is what Toozi does by default. If your shop grows into real inventory, Toozi can switch to cost of goods sold with you.

Question 6

How is that different from QuickBooks or a spreadsheet?

Accepted Answer

QuickBooks makes you sit at a computer and learn software; the spreadsheet only works if you remember to open it. Toozi takes a text from your phone while you pack orders and keeps the quarterly estimate current.

Question 7

Is my financial data safe?

Accepted Answer

256-bit AES encryption at rest and in transit, bank connections through Plaid (same infrastructure as Venmo), and payments through Stripe — your card data never touches our servers.

Question 8

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes. No contract, no cancellation fee. Text "cancel" and you're done — and you can export your books first.

Run your Etsy shop from one text thread.
