Question 1

Do I really just… text?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Text (844) 482-4881 like you'd text a client about their appointment. "Session $600," "$180 needles," "what do I owe?" — Toozi logs it, sorts it, and answers. No app, no login.

Question 2

What can a tattoo artist write off?

Accepted Answer

Needles and cartridges, ink, gloves, barriers and wrap, stencil paper, your machines and power supply, booth rent or the shop's cut, your license and bloodborne pathogen certification, drawing software and tablet, travel for guest spots, and the business share of your phone. Toozi sorts each one for Schedule C.

Question 3

The shop takes a percentage. Is my income the full price or my cut?

Accepted Answer

Depends on how the shop pays you. If the client pays you and you pay the shop, the full price is income and the shop's cut is an expense. If the shop pays you your share, that share is your income. Toozi handles either way — just text it how it happened.

Question 4

How do deposits work for taxes?

Accepted Answer

A deposit is income when you receive it, even if the session is next month. Toozi logs it when you text it or when it lands in your bank, and applies it to the session later.

Question 5

I do guest spots out of state. Can I deduct the trip?

Accepted Answer

Travel for a guest spot — flights, lodging, and business meals at 50% — is generally deductible. Toozi tracks the trip against the income from that spot so you can see what it really paid.

Question 6

How is that different from Keeper or QuickBooks?

Accepted Answer

Keeper is built around finding write-offs after the fact. QuickBooks makes you sit at a computer and learn software. Toozi keeps your sessions, supplies, and shop cut current from your phone, between clients.

Question 7

Is my financial data safe?

Accepted Answer

256-bit AES encryption at rest and in transit, bank connections through Plaid (same infrastructure as Venmo), and payments through Stripe — your card data never touches our servers.

Question 8

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes. No contract, no cancellation fee. Text "cancel" and you're done — and you can export your books first.

Run your chair from one text thread.

Have Toozi text you first
