Do booth renters have to pay quarterly taxes?

If you rent a booth or suite, or get a 1099, nobody withholds tax for you, so the IRS expects payments four times a year: April 15, June 15, September 15 and January 15. If you expect to owe $1,000 or more for the year, skipping them adds a penalty. Toozi keeps the running estimate and texts you before each date.

Are tips taxable?

Yes. Cash, card, Venmo and Zelle tips are all income, and they count toward self-employment tax too. Text them with the service ("$85 plus $15 tip") so your books match your bank.

What if I paid cash and lost the receipt?

Write down the date, store, amount and what it was for as soon as you can, or text it to Toozi and it saves that as your record. Bank and card statements back it up. A same-day note holds up far better than a guess at tax time.

Is Toozi better than a booth rent spreadsheet from Etsy?

A spreadsheet is cheaper, and if you open it every week it works. Most people don't, and a spreadsheet can't remind you, sort a Cash App payment, notice a transfer, estimate your quarterly payment or file the return. Toozi does those by text.
