Toozi for Claude

What Toozi can do in Claude.

Once you connect Toozi, ask Claude in plain words. Claude picks the right Toozi tool; you'll see its name in the chat when it does. Here's each one, with things to try.

Add Toozi to Claude

Taxes

A running federal set-aside from your books, and your return prepared for review.

  • “How much should I set aside for taxes so far this year?”
  • “Prepare my 2025 tax return.”
  • “I drove 24 miles to a client today.”
  • tax_estimate
Federal set-aside so far this year and a rough quarterly estimated payment. Always an estimate; state tax is extra.
  • prepare_return
Builds your federal return draft from the books (income, Schedule C, mileage, self-employment tax, estimated payments) and returns a link to review it in your dashboard.
  • log_mileage
Logs a business trip for the standard mileage deduction.
  • set_vehicle_method
Records whether you deduct your car by standard mileage or actual expenses.

Your books

Log what happened, ask what you made, and fix entries. Same books you text Toozi about.

  • “What did I make last week?”
  • “Log $48 of gas for the truck.”
  • “Show me my October income by category.”
  • “Change that $48 to $52.”
  • get_account_overview
Your business profile, active business, vehicle method and the category names Toozi files under.
  • get_period_summary
Income, expenses and net for today, this week, last week or any date range.
  • get_monthly_summary
One calendar month, broken out by category.
  • query_user_data
Up to 25 rows of transactions, invoices, time entries, bills or tax estimates, with filters.
  • log_expense
Logs a business expense with its tax category.
  • log_income
Logs money you received that isn’t already a paid invoice or a bank deposit.
  • edit_transaction
Fixes the amount, date or description of an entry you logged yourself. Bank transactions stay as the bank reported them.
  • delete_transactionAsks first
Removes an entry you logged, or hides a bank transaction from the books.
  • set_active_business
With more than one business, picks which one new entries go to.

Sorting transactions

Clear the bank transactions Toozi couldn’t file on its own. Toozi remembers each answer.

  • “What do I need to sort?”
  • “The Amazon charge was supplies.”
  • “Sort everything from October.”
  • list_uncategorized
Transactions waiting on you: ones with no category, and ones where Toozi suggested a category for you to approve.
  • categorize_transaction
Files one transaction and remembers the merchant for next time.
  • auto_categorize_transactions
Files everything uncategorized in a date range using your rules and Toozi’s classifier.
  • list_merchant_rules
The categories you’ve already settled per merchant or payer.

Invoices

Draft an invoice in the conversation; nothing is emailed until you say so.

  • “Invoice Harbor Wedding Co $900 for fall wedding styling.”
  • “Send invoice INV-1004.”
  • create_invoice
Creates a draft invoice. It isn’t sent.
  • send_invoiceAsks first
Emails an invoice to your client after showing who, how much and which email.

Bills and budget

What’s due, what’s paid, and where you stand against your monthly budget.

  • “What bills are due this month?”
  • “I paid the phone bill.”
  • “Am I over budget on supplies?”
  • “Set my advertising budget to $200 a month.”
  • list_bills
Overdue and upcoming bills, with recurrence; paid ones on request.
  • add_billAsks first
    Tracks a new bill.
  • mark_bill_paid
Marks a bill paid; recurring bills roll to the next due date.
  • delete_billAsks first
Stops tracking a bill you no longer need.
  • get_budget
Each budget category with this month’s and this year’s spending, and warnings.
  • set_budget
Sets or changes a category’s monthly budget.
  • add_budget_category
    Adds a budget category.
  • delete_budget_categoryAsks first
    Removes a budget category.

Contractors and 1099s

Find who you paid for work, collect W-9s, and check you’re ready to file 1099-NECs.

  • “Who might I need to send a 1099 to?”
  • “Jordan Lee was my assistant.”
  • “Ask Ana Morales for her W-9.”
  • “Am I ready to file my 1099s?”
  • scan_contractor_payments
Scans the year’s bank activity (Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, contract labor) for people you paid, with totals.
  • confirm_contractorAsks first
Adds a payee as a contractor and books their payments toward a 1099.
  • not_a_contractor
Marks a payee as not paid for work, so the scan stops suggesting them.
  • request_w9Asks first
Texts or emails a contractor a secure link to fill in their W-9.
  • prepare_1099s
Who needs a 1099-NEC, which are ready, and what’s missing. Returns a link to file from your dashboard.

What Claude asks you first, and what stays out of Claude

  • Anything that reaches someone else (sending an invoice, requesting a W-9), books contractor payments, or removes something shows you a preview, and runs only after you say yes. These are marked Asks first above.
  • Filing never happens inside Claude. Claude prepares your return or 1099s and hands you a link; you review, verify your identity and sign in your Toozi dashboard, and Toozi e-files as an IRS-authorized e-file provider.
  • Claude never sees or asks for a Social Security number or EIN, and can't move money.
  • Tax figures come from fixed calculations, not the AI, and estimates are always labeled as estimates.
