Schedule C · tax year 2026

File your Schedule C by text for $49

Updated

The cheapest way to file a Schedule C depends on one thing: are your numbers done? If you already have clean income and expense totals, free DIY tax software is cheapest. If you don't, Toozi does the books and the filing for $49: connect your bank, text what's missing, and Toozi fills every line, then e-files your return as an IRS Authorized e-file Provider.

How it works by text

  1. Connect your bank, or just start texting. Toozi pulls in the year and sorts each transaction to a Schedule C line. Cash in and out, you text: “got paid $180 cash,” “$96 color and foils.”
  2. Answer the few it isn't sure about. Toozi texts you a short list; pick a category and it's done. It asks about miles, your home office and helpers you paid.
  3. Review and sign in your dashboard. Toozi builds Schedule C, Schedule SE and your 1040, you check it and sign with your PIN, and Toozi e-files it to the IRS.

Schedule C, line by line

What goes on each line, and what you'd text Toozi to fill it.

Part IIncome

  • 1
    Gross receipts or sales

Everything clients paid you: cash, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, card, checks, and the 1099-NEC and 1099-K amounts.

“got paid $180 Zelle for a color”
  • 2
    Returns and allowances

Refunds you gave back to customers.

Not filled automatically yet: text Toozi before you count on it.
  • 4
    Cost of goods sold

From Part III, if you sell products. Service businesses usually leave it blank.

  • 6
    Other income

Business income that isn't a sale, like a rebate or a prize tied to the business.

“got a $50 referral bonus from Square”
  • 7
    Gross income

Toozi adds lines 1 through 6.

Part IIExpenses

  • 8

    “paid Rosa $120 to help”
  • 12
    Depletion

Oil, gas and timber. Almost never applies to a one-person business.

Not filled automatically yet: text Toozi before you count on it.

Bigger equipment you write off over time or all at once.

“bought a $3,200 styling chair for the suite”

Questions

What is the cheapest way to file a Schedule C?

If your income and expense totals are already done, free DIY tax software is the cheapest. If they aren't, Toozi is $49 for a month: connect your bank, text what's missing, and Toozi builds Schedule C and e-files the return. Cancel by text afterward.

Does $49 really include filing?

Yes. Toozi is $49 a month (or $399 a year) with filing included. Start free for 14 days with no card; filing happens on the paid plan. Toozi is an IRS Authorized e-file Provider: you review the return, sign with your PIN in the dashboard, and Toozi transmits it.

I haven't tracked anything all year. Can I still file?

Yes. Connect your bank once and Toozi pulls in the year, sorts each transaction to a Schedule C line, and asks you only about the ones it isn't sure of. Cash you were paid or spent, you text in.

I have two businesses. Do I need two Schedule Cs?

Usually yes, one per business. Toozi keeps separate books for each and prepares a Schedule C for every one at the same $49.

What about state returns?

State returns are included where Toozi supports the state. Toozi tells you up front if yours isn't supported yet.

What doesn't Toozi file?

S-corp (1120-S) and partnership (1065) returns, and complicated investment years. If that's you, a CPA or a plan built for it is the better call.

Tax is a doozy.
Toozi isn't.
